hey guys. this is my first question. i love cars if u cant tell by my name. i used to be a mechanic at Midas and Conrads and all those little shops and i own a 1994 Dodge Stealth and a 1994 Ford Taurus SHO. i'm in the process of sellin the Stealth cuz its a stick but i really cant wait to drive and want some hand controls for my SHO. i went on ebay and found some for around $300. so what ones are the best or easiest? and i would prefer the portable ones so i can drive more than 1 car. Thanx in advance for the input.

here is the one i was checkin out

portable hand controls are not safe for long-term use. in some countries even illegal!

it depends whether you drive automatic or manual, either you want mechanic or hydraulic/servo controls.

i think the best bet is to try and see what suits you. everyone's so individual.

HI: I have "Suregrip" :drive: controls in my 31 Ford hotrod and have been very happy with them. The brake works the same as with the right angle styles, but the gas works by rotating your wrist instead of pulling the lever toward your lap. The dealer I went to had both of these styles on display along with the portable ones you mentioned. The portable ones are inexpensive but honestly they seem very flimsy. Jim

I have Menox Hand controls and I love the look and the feel of it. Not to mention that they don't interfere with transfers nor other able bodied drivers.

I did this when I first started driving, didn't ram anyone, but getting use to it was hard. I've had two pair of controls, one where you pushed towards the pedal to apply brake and one where ya pushed straight down for brake, but both had ya pull them towards you for gas.
