Ok The story so far.... Im now 30 weeks pregnant and need to get some push handles for my Tilite. Feeling as if I have 2 bags of sugar strapped to my stomach, at the moment Im finding it harder to push and slopes are quite awkward.

Anyway I decided to order some handles for my Tilite XC. How difficult is that? I mean we are talking off the peg stuff here, not something they need to go off and make. Tilite in the US wont/ are unable to sell to me and told me to contact Gerald Simmonds. So far Ive phoned them at least 5 times, plus e mails. Their service is terrible and they seem to be unable to grasp that I got the chair in the US not from them. So basically I think they cant be bothered even though Id have thought they would be glad of any order. :ranting: :ranting: A pair of handles and the bits of upholstery to accomodate the change isnt going to be that cheap is it?!

So anyway Ive almost given in. Anyone out there got any ideas at all!!!!? Im so fed up of dealing with a company that really doesnt want my business, all I want is to be able to make life a bit easier for my hubby over the next couple of months! Obviously too much to ask! :soapbox:

Hi lucy, sorry to here about your problem.
Im not really to sure how to help, but I do know how it feels to need something and not be able to get it quick enough or at all. So I had to write and tell you im sorry and I understand. Maybe there's a way I can help "being in the U.S." If so let me know and I'll try my best.
Thank you
Hope you find a solution quick to help through your pregnancy, and Congrats.

Useless company - I got my TiLite thro them and had all sorts of problems. Their customer service isn't so much a joke as completely non existent.

The push handles on my Ti Lite are just standard quickie clamp on push handles - it's a fairly universal fitting if you have a bar across the back of the chair as almost every rigid chair has (it is a rigid?). You should be able to fit just about any push handles that bolt on in that way.

Cyclone have always been very helpful and they list a clamp on push handle here http://www.cyclonemo...hdnProductID=29 so they'd definately be worth a ring.

Another option if your still having trouble finding push handles is to try a machine shop or metal fabricator and have them build you some. Thay will probably do it for you quite quikly and cheaply. good luck and best wishes for the baby.-Barry

This just seemes really crazy... but I have been looking around for you on Internet and can't really find anything.

For now the only kinda thing I've found is this push handle thing from Kuschall that is attached to the axel of the chair...

... but its really big and it might not even fit on your chair!

I really can't believe how this company is treating you... there is just no way! :)

If you want me to help (as a US resident) I can order up the part for you with your SN or you can contact them and order it up and have it sent to my home address. I can then send it along to you. If you are interested the send me a PM and we can coordinate something.

Thanks to everyone who has offered help with this. Hopefully, fingers crosssed, etc etc i hve verbally beaten Gerald Simonds into submission who have promised me that the push handles should be with me within 10 days. Wow hows that for wonderful customer service.... or not as the case may be? I reckon it will have taken about 6 weeks in total for what is an off the shelf part. great chairs, dreadful service!!!

Thanks again everyone
