Hi Eveybody

I have just joined in and I would like to congratulate all of us that are hanging in here despite traumatic life changing events.
I am a RN whose Husband had an accident almost 5 years ago, that rendered him an incomplete quadriplegic.
I thought that I knew everything about nursing but I found out otherwise.
Now we spend most of our time in Thailand where my Husband has alternative treatment and continues to improve.
We have an appiontment in China this week coming, to see if my Husband is suitable for adult stem cells treatment there, so I will keep you posted about our progress.
Don't ever give up, there is always some light at the end of tunnel.

Howdy and Welcome!!!
Good luck with everything in China. My husband is a incomplete quad also, as of Jan.2006. He's working hard in rehab. We have high hopes and I hope we never come down... I just wish there was more treatments, surgerys or what ever in the USA...But if ya BELIEVE, theres no telling what may happen.

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome,

Trail-Boss and wife Stick-Tight

Thank you for the welcoming.
I am up early , enjoying my morning hour is " ME " time .
We stumbled across this web page whilst researching for the stem cells procedure( "Apparelyzed "has the newest info on it) and we think the whole web site is great.
We leave on Wednesday for Nanshan Hospital, Thursday Kev will be assesed and we will see if he's suitable for the stem cells injections.
We needed a neurologist report so we went to see a reputable one here & he asked :"Why do you want to go to China for ? You have wheelchair".We left after I said my piece as Kev is a very gentle person(too gentle sometimes)
Are these defeatists attitudes that make me angry and ashamed that I am in the medical profession.
After the accident I was explained in details during a meeting with Kev's med team that I should be accepting that he'll never walk again etc.. Even the rehab was ceased by the DR 'cos he said is a wasted resource on Kev
We did what nobody adviced us to do , never gave up : reduced meds, increased physio, started accupuncture, started traveling (got a few stories) & now my darling Husband walks with a zimmer frame about 30 m and can feel a lot more of his body.
However according to the Dr back home this is " the calm before the storm", very encouraging eh?
So I will tell you more next time how come that we live in Thailand & other occurences if you want to know.
Have a good day Everybody!
