Need New Casters For A Quickie Gt

I currently have a Quickie GT and I'm looking into getting some new casters for my chair. I'm thinking of getting 3" micro ones as I have 6" ones now. Kind of looking for a change. Does anyone know any good sites to buy some and will I need to get new caster housings as well? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Two good places for casters are Edmond Wheelchair and Sportaid. If you just get the replacement casters but different diameter, your existing casterforks should work ok. If you want to change the width then you will either need new caster forks or the spacers which you can get cheap at Edmond Wheelchair.
You can call either of those places or email them and they will be more than happy to help you out with any specifics.

GT that's Quickie right? Go to the Quickie site. As for going from 6 to 3 in casters....U will undoubtedly need to get different forks for the chair. By the way if I may B so noesy....why do U want 2 shrink your casters by so much? I have 3.5in casters and they do get stuck in cracks more often than when I had a chair with 5in casters. Lot more wheelies now. Honestly the only reason I've got little ones is that I personally do NOT like having foot rest for each foot. The single plates on the rigid chairs are better for me and they don't generaly go well with larger casters.

*Wheelchairs are made of a special ocular magnetic alloy......they're "eyeball magnets".*

I feel like a dorkus 4 spacing that U did say it was a Quickie. The casters on your chair work like the front wheels on your car. If you go with real small tires on just the front, your trunk will rais up and your hood will drop....that's kinda how your chair would react to the smaller casters; your feet will tip towards the floor and unless the forks or housing units are changed I highly doubt you'll like the way it rides.
You can call Quickie (they have an 1 800 # for US residents)and give them the serial# off of your chair and tell you exactly what you need to do to make it the way you want....and more importantly, it'll work better than trying to "jerryrig" something later.

Not disagreeing with what you are saying about the way it would ride but if I am not mistaken a Quicke GT is adjustable height in the back so you wuoldnt necessarily need new casters if you can make the adjustment in the back to offset the drop in the front. I made a couple of changes in my Quicke folding without any problems as I can adjust the rear height accordingly. The width though is a concern if you are going from say 1.5 in wide to a 1 in wide caster and would need the spacers if that was the case. If width is the same you wouldnt need the spacers.
You can go through quickie but for something like casters you can save some money by going through a 3rd party site usually. Authorized distributors are familiar with the products too so if you tell them your position and what you have and what you are looking for they are more than happy to help you out to make the best decision.
