Hey all,
Does anyone suffer with Dysreflexia?
I am a T5 level paraplegic who has recently broken his back. Since breaking my back and loosing the use of the majority of my muscles below my chest, am also suffering with premature ejaculation. I was a good lover before my injury I might add, therefore am very distressed with my lack of staying power. Unfortunately, I suffer with this autonomic reflex and this is brought on through sexual intercourse, therefore am reluctant to engage in this act and when I do, last about 2 minutes and end up going dysreflxic which is not nice and is certainly not the desired effect of a 'sexual act'
Does anyone else suffer with these problems since their spinal cord injury and could they explain what is available and if/what they did to stop these conditions occuring. I have read about dysreflexia and apparently it can occur through sexual intercourse but it does not offer any solutions on how to prevent this and I dont have control of the muscles written about, used to alleviate premature ejaculation.
Id be glad of any advice anyone could offer as this is ruining my life.
Regards,

Sam

hard to prevent AD because of your neurological damage your body can't control it. u can use gtn to lower your bp and stop the headache but given intercourse doesn’t last long the gtn may act longer than your high bp lasts, meaning your bp will go too low once you orgasm, this is actually more dangerous ! sorry, can't help more ......
