So was the neurontin perscribed for something else? Are you having increased nerve pain? How are the spasms in your other leg? I know that I was told that spasms are good and that you should not take more anti-spasm medication that necessary to keep some spasms, so maybe consider dropping your dosage... I'm guessing you are on baclofen? If you are using the parallel bars sounds like you are in rehab still so have they been putting you on a StimMaster or other like machine that stimulates the muscles to work? If not then request that they do as this will help with the atrophy issue as well. My local rehab clinic allows people to come in and use the StimMaster for free as long as they were properly trained on it first as it is a $15k machine and important to rehab but insurance will usually not pay for a person to get one in their home. So if its not part of your rehab schedule you can always ask to use one in addition to your rehab as well and maybe your clinic does something like mine.

It was really quite weird why I was given neurontin unless what you shared on one of its side effect is also to promote muscle spasm. The only thing I realized why my doctor did prescribe me is because she is a consultant of PFIZER. She is a neurologist by the way. I am scheduling myself to see a physio doctor.
I hate looking at my leg because it is getting thin by the day and no hyperactivity even though how much I hammer or knock at it.

Are you getting any work on a StimMaster type machine or TENS?

Yes I do get a TENS, it somehow prevents athropy. I somehow discontinued the neurontin because I dont feel any neuropathic pain.
I dont even know and understands what neuropathic pain is and how it feels?
@ladysmack
hope all is well now for your husband's condition ladysmack.

I guess if you dont know what neuropathic pain is you probably dont have it. I have quite a lot of neuropathic pain and I dont even know how to explain it to someone else. Its almost like muslce pain but deeper, much worse, and sharper... but I dont think that description really would explain well to someone who hasnt experienced it though. If you dont have nerve pain then I would tend to agree that you probably dont need the neurontin.
