You should titrate up to at least 150 mg/day (which of course you already have.) Dosages below this level have been shown to be ineffective in treating NP. I am currently at the max dosage of 300 mg (100 mg ttd) with no significant side effects.

Here's Pfizer's dosing site, http://www.lyricapro.com/cwpb/appmanager/l..._epi_pro_dosing

Do you guys find this medication effective? I am going to make an appointment with my Dr after reading these threads. I have tolerated this for years and would like to get some relief.

Some people will find relief from Lyrica and some from Neurontin. I personally found my relief from Neurontin. The pain is not completly gone but it is so much better I cant put into words. The neurontin along with Baclofen took care of a lot of my pain, I was getting a lot of pain in my joints and didnt realize that the bad spasms I was getting was the cause of them. So if you havent tried either than ask your doc about them and if one doesnt work then you can you can always request to try the other. I am sure your doc will actually tell you the same thing that if it doesnt work he/she will try you on the other next.

My life changed drasticly after I found a pain management physician at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He prescribed to me a very large dosage of Lyrica. Every four hours I take one 200mg capsule of this wonderful new medication. By the end of the day, I have taken 1000mg. I believe that my physician is on the cutting edge of pain control, and I am so very thankful to have found him. I can now rejoin the human race. In the beginning it made me drowsy, but I quickly adjusted. I hope that you too get some relief by taking this new med.

Hi there,

I was just going to post on exactly the same subject but you beat me to it! This site is so great!

I got prescribed Lyrica two days ago as the nerve pain I was having before my surgery has come back and I've been in agony. I've been told to take 500mg three times a day. I only just started today. I do feel a little drowsy but it's quite nice! It's also used for anxiety, which I really suffer with so I'm hoping it'll help that too!.

I hope the Lyrica helps you Bobby!

I am switching to Lyrica from Neurontin, I had been taking Neurontin for four years and recently began having tremendous pain. I am hoping Lyrica will work for me also. I also take elavil 150mg at bedtime for chronic pain, and also Baclofen 60mg daily. I have no trouble sleeping! thank God it is the only time I am pain free.

I found that Lyrica did nothing for me. I currently take Neurontin 800mg 3x a day along with Baclofen as needed. I still suffer from the burning and spasms but not as bad. I have to take Soma at night to be able to relax to sleep.
