We ordered a new wheelchair form Sportaid last week. It's a Top End wheelchair form Invacare. We were told 3 different time frames that it would take to get the chair. We were told it would take 2 to 3 weeks, someone else said 3 to 4 weeks and yet another person said 6 to 8 weeks! It seems like no one has the slightest clue!

How long did it take form the time you ordered your manual wheelchair until you actually had it? I would just like to have a rough guideline to go by here! Thanks! :drive:

Hey there. I've ordered stuff from Sportaid before, but every wheelchair I've gotten has been from Southwest medical online... however, sportaid seems to be a really reliable company, too. Southwest told me with my new quickie gt that it could take up to 4 weeks, but I had it in two. The girl that I spoke with when placing my order told me that they were told to quote a time frame that is typically much longer than it actually takes, but it prevents them saying "oh, two weeks, three at the max" and then it doesn't happen and customer satisfaction goes down. I would say 2 weeks, three at the most, unless there was some sort of major custom stuff ordered... have fun with it!! I loved getting my new chair in....

I've gotten chairs from two different providers. The first one took just over eight weeks and the second took about a month. My suggestion would be to expect it to be there at the latest time you have been told, that way if it gets there early it's a nice suprise.

I didnt order from Sportaid but from my local wheelchair store and mine took about a month. When I ordered it they told me it could take 6-8 weeks because of getting insurance approval and sometimes it takes them a few weeks to "ok" it. My insurance gave the approval that same day as all my paperwork was already in order so it took the 3-4 weeks. So, the length of time can depend on if you are buying out of pocket or waiting on insurance approval too.

We are actually paying out of pocket, but it has taken Sportaid 9 days to get things in order themselves! I'd hate to have them try to sort out anything to do with insurance! :) We had to call them because we didn't get a confirmation saying the order was done and after loads of emails they are still asking questions about what we ordered! We also never had anything confirming that the order from Southwest medical went through and it was also 9 days ago that it was ordered. I swear ordering a new wheelchair is like getting teeth pulled!

Yeah tell me about it! I have paid for the chair upfront, they now sit on my money until they ship your chair!
