:)
Ok I know this sounds silly but I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who has this problem. . I have gone back to the electric chair and when I go into a store or anywhere closed in, I get dizzy enough to feel motion sickness... I know my speed has been pretty slow on the forearm crutches so maybe I just am not used to moving so quickly. I had to go back to using my old 88 chev van with a lift to get around by myself. I wasn't able to conquer putting the manual chair in and out of the jeep by myselfand didn't have the strength to use my arms very long. Anyone have any suggestions? I am tired of being in my house alone.

Hi Katherine,

Is there any chance that you could have an inner ear problem? Have you noticed any symptoms any other time at all? It's just a thought. Something that you might have checked out.

By the way, don't ever feel silly about asking a question. You never know when there's someone else out here who has had some experience and can offer some help. I'm a firm believer that there are no silly questions when it comes to our one common circumstance that unites us. It's how we all learn.

Katey, there are no silly questions, only silly answers.
The inner ear thing could be a possibility. It could be caused by a slight allergy to something. A lot of my friends complain about allergies in the early spring but at no other time of year.

As for your lack of arm strength, Exercise. It's a b**ch, but we are stuck with it. If you don't use it you will lose it. I was surprised at how weak I was after a recent 10 day stint in bed. It seems that the older I get the faster I lose it , too.

I wish you much luck, Ed

Hi, depending on what level you are, for high paras and quads there is a condition called Autonomic Dysreflexia, dizziness can be a symptom.whether a sudden change in skin pressure from sitting, blood pressure could be causing it. Check out further info about Autonomic Dysreflexia http://www.spinalcord.org/html/factsheets/...lexia.php#what2.

Cheers
