Hi my name is Adam and I wanted to get some information from everyone for a project.
My sports law class has a hypothetical assignment where the womens head soccer coach signs a contract for a year and 2 months into his contract he is in a car accident that has rendered him a paraplegic. The school fired the head coach from his coaching position stating that he was unable to carry out his duties, but said he could remain as a professor if he wish.
My job is to represent the head coach in an unlawful dismissal against the school under the ADA.
What I need from everyone is if they think that the head soccer coach could continue his duties as the womens head soccer coach with the aid of some sort of motorized vehicle? Also what are some of the challenges and obstacles he would have to overcome as a coach? Finally does anyone know of a situation such as this where the coach has been successful at coaching despite not having the use of his legs?
Thanks to everyone in advance for helping

Just read this before I went to watch movie with my wife, so I'll be brief for now. As the son of a coach who has coached football, basketball, baseball, softball, track. swimming, golf and tennis at both the high school and college level, and as some one who has consider getting into coaching myself, I can say I've been around coach's quite a bit. The only obstacle I can think of is that some stadiums have stairs heading into the dressing room or onto the field. Very few though and for the most part there would be no need of any motorized assistance as he would be able to push him self along in a manual chair quite easily. I've ran across a few parapaletic coach's in the past and have a good friend that coach's soccer and I've been on the sideline helping him coach more then once.
I'll try to get back to this topic later.
