My husband wants his blue jeans back but I worry about presure ulcers. Can anyone help me with finding some? I am trying to bring some normal back to his life and trying to find some ways.

I have been wearing jeans again but no pressure sores. They are quite loose and I dont use the one's that are tight fitting. Jeans are cool especially in the wheelchair.

About all I wear unless I am dressing up. I have had no problems but I am not a high risk pressure sore person. I move around a lot and do a lot of pressure relief.

Buy a regular loose fitting pair and maybe unstich the pockets from the back so it is just flat material he is sitting on?

I like to wear jeans and I always unstitch the back pockets. For any lady jeans wearers out there a good tip is to buy the ones for pregnant women because they have an elasticated material section around the tummy which is really comfortable, but the lower body section and the legs are denim - they look just like ordinary jeans !!! Don't think you have to have a big tummy to wear these kind either - I buy a size 8 or 10 (UK size) and they fit great.

Yes H&M do some great pregnancy ones - even for those of us who are not an 8 or 10!! And great black cargos too. Since finding pregnancy clothes - after I first got pregnant amazingly - I often find their shapes suit our seated shapes.

Back to Jeans though I've worn loose or tight, all sorts ever since my injury. Infact I have to try really hard to get out of them even worn black black ones at weddings! Always removed back pockets/buttons and belt loops.

If you are a guy (and the lovely cheap pregnancy jeans are not an option) their are great specially shaped ones from rolli moden or able 2 wear are great giving you the extra rise in the rear.

rolli moden web site is in German and they have stopped their UK & US offices so I'm not 100% sure if they will ship world wide (my german isn't that good to read their web site) but their jeans are fabulous and well worth the money.

blue denim jeans is all i wear the main reason is the are tough enough to protect my legs & bum . when i wear shorts i allways end up with cuts & scratches .
the other is they stay up when transfering a lot.

Izziwhizzi is right - I'd forgotten about Rolli moden - and I have their catalogue - Doh!. They do still supply to the UK - you can order a catalogue online and they have an English speaking phone line. I have always found them to be good, though I did have a pair of their jeans a few years ago and I found them too big around the hips - too much material ! They do an alteration service though too so you can get the correct size ! They are also a bit on the expensive side so if you can get high street jeans to fit and adapt them it will save a bit of cash.

Outlook for rolli moden but they're no longer doing business in the US as far as I know. Anyone has any other ideas please let me know to.
Thanks,

I find that so long as fabrics are not to ruff (found some slaks with patterns that rubbed me raw) and the fit is loose just about any pants shud be OK

I do the same thing regarding removing the back pockets and rivets. I buy the prewashed jeans and there are quite a few brands that have the elastic waist band. Usually, the front looks normal and the back of the waist band is elastic. You can't tell the difference and they are much less than specialty jeans.

Jeans are the only thing I wore for the first 4-5 years. Still pretty much the only thing I wear unless I have to dress up, also I'll pull out the pj bottoms for long drives. Just have to be aware of pressure relief. I personally can't sit still without moving for more then 10-15 minutes so luckly I haven't had any skin problems.

I hadn't thought of that! That could solve a lot of problems for me.

I bought a pair from USA JEANS ,and after wearing them for a couple monthes, ordered tho more. That's the best recomendation I can give.

They come without the back pockets and the front is lower than the back with a long zipper to make cathing easier.

They also have an elastic waist, which also helps in the above.

At about $60 a pair, they aren't outrageous (spelling?).

If he wants them, give them to him. Talk about removing the back pockets.
You are going to have a hell of a lot more problems treating him like a child than letting him learn his own boundaries.
