This is going to sound like a dumb question, but if you are getting married why wouldnt you just have your spouse change their medical policy to a family one and cover you as well. Normally private insurance is better than medicare/medicaid anyways.

Ask to speak to a social worker in you're state, they should know more about this.

Mine didn't change, but then again it was 13 years after my injury that the government finally decided I was permanatly disabled. I try to keep off disablity and medicare but is nice to know it's there if I need it and go unemployed for any lenght of time.

I'm afraid you are probably going to have speak to the demons at medicare and medicaid. There can be two people with the exact same circumstances and the amount of assistance or whatever can be totally different. Beurocrats are amazing creatures. Totally unqualified, untrained individuals with peoples lives in their hands making decisions based on section 6, item C of the official f*@kemall manual. Sorry about that. I couldn't stop once I got started.

Just be sure to get a reference numbers or something to validated your interaction.

I'm not sure if they would treat SSDI and SSI any different in that circumstance, but marriage did not effect my SSDI amounts at all. The only change to my Medicare was by my choice...I dropped the Part B portion because my husband has good medical coverage. I now wish I had kept it though, for various reasons, but I can always sign back up for it later.

I got married after I was injured and she's a great wife I'm glad I did it... but...

I have a little income in addition to my SSDI such that the additional from my wife put me over the limit for some stuff. But it doesn't affect my disability income
