Looks good man, I know how it feels been riding a quad now for 17 years. Little bid hesitant on jumping though.

Hell,
You'd probably kick my ass. Lol. I can barely do a lap without getting worn out. If I could stay on it better I would be a lot better off. Even with the seatbelt, I tend to roll off to the side. So I am busy pulling my body up as well as getting set up for the next turn. I am thinking about going the route ricky did on his bike with the kart seat.

I have long considered getting a one person or smaller dune buggy. They are not much bigger than a quad. I felt to off balance all the time on a 4-wheeler. But with a 5 point seat belt and roll cage I could go wild.

Even a old Honda Odyssey would be good. It is factory set up with hand controls.

Only thing that sucks about the old oddessy's are they are getting hard to find, and when you do find one they are expensive for one in good shape. Plus I would want to get the FL400cc...I've been thinking about just building my own, and using a 750 or bigger crotch-rocket motor, and build it with full suspension

there some real sweet 800+cc buggies on eBay. Lots of suspension travel for a smoother ride and jumps. Since they just use Honda motor upgrade parts should be easy to get for lots more hp.

Got some good air on my Raptor in the dunes in Esperance the other week. The take off is actually quite a ways on the other side of the dune. Never though id be jumping this big on the Raptor but with the right down ramp its quite smooth.

Wheelin,

Try doing the cut gokart seat thing which i did to my YZ125... Will help you stay balanced a lot better. Theres some pics here... http://roooost.blogs...01_archive.html

Atvaholic,

Rippin it up, Good work! Looks like you may want to sit forward a bit more though, will help a lot in your cornering.
Cheers

There are some more pics in this thread...

Below is the construction of the seat, just cut the bottom off a go kart seat, take the upholstery off the bike seat and cut a piece out of the foam. Drill through the two seats. Put the upholstery back on the bike seat and bolt the two together with 4 long nuts n bolts. Then take the whole thing to a professional upholsterer to have covered and padded, you also get them to put in a couple of velcro straps. Make sure you have a removable cushion covering the bolts as the bolts come lose with time and you will need access to tighten them up.

As far as holding on im not sure, im a para so i have good hand and arm strength. I had trouble balancing when i first got on a quad with no ab muscles but after a while you adapt. All i can suggest is if you can ride a bit just persist, you will get used to it and it will feel more natural the more you do it, just take it easy and build confidence slowly.

Perhaps a different shaped contoured handle bar grip would help you hold on better??
