i have recently looked at the people i know with sci who are really getting out there & making their mark on the world. almost all are people who have accepted what has happened to them & accept it . the ones who see themselvs as victoms & blame others never seem to get over the fact somone else is responcible for their situation and refuse to get on with their lives. whilst many people are victoms , it is of no advantage to be bitter about it. acceptance is required to move forward.
i beleive the legal system is largly to blame as to be compensated you need to spend years prooving to a court you are useless & your life is ruined & eventually you beleive it.
being a happy smiling crip is much easier when your out in public than the angry chip on shoulders type & when some old lady says she will pray for you there no need to tell her to get stuffed just a thank you & a smile will do. sure some people look at you & are thinking the poor person but dont let it bother you you would have done the same yourself. once the locals get to know you they will be talking to you as they would anybody else if not more
being confident dosn't come natural to everyone but does make your life much easier. tell others what your going to do don't ask.

my advice is shit happens get get on with life.
tell me its impossible & i will show you how its done
