Hi,

Since my accident 8 years ago I've been using my elbows all day to support me because of my injured level and lately my elbows really hurt. Anybody is using some kind of protection?

Thanks

I've found this guard elbow and it woks perfectly. Finally my elbows don't hurt anymore. Here is the link for those interested. By the way, the size that I got was large one, to protect part of my arm also.

I had surgery on my elbow for bursitius 3 yrs ago because like you I leaned a lot on my elbow at work for support. Afterwards I got an elbow pad from DonJoy called the Spider elbow pad- it has lots of padding & has protected my elbow well since.
You can find them at www.betterbraces.com under elbow pads.
Good Luck.

Hi
I have an issue with my elbows resting on the side of my backrest which is hard causing my skin to break down, have tried various elbow protectors with no joy, is the honeycomb on the spider elbow pad air filled or foam filled?
Thx
Simon

Hi

A quick question. I note from your levels you are C7's ish (apart from Simon, this point is obviously not meant for him at his level) why do you rest on your elbows so much? I hope you dont use arm rests.

A lot of C5's and most C6's can get away without arm rests on their chairs - just small side guards to stop your cushion & hips from shifting onto your wheels. Your balance is good enough, and if you topple sideways (I only do that when drunk or when snoozing in my chair) your ability is good enough to catch you.

Just asking ...

I don't use arm rests on my chair. I have much more dexterity w/ my right fingers than my left so working at a desk all day leads to leaning on my left elbow for stability while picking up papers etc w/ my right hand. With the pad, which I wear each day I don't have to worry about grinding my elbow.

The DonJoy spider pad is foam filled, thick enough to provide great protection, but still thin enough that I wear it under my dress shirt every day and it's not noticeable.
