Hi my names monty, i am a c3-c4 quadriplegic and i was wanting to concieve a child with my fiance and i dont think i ejaculate, does anyone know where i would begin in this process, and if i went to a fertility doctor if my medicaid and/or medicare would pay for any or all of the costs?

ALSO, I just recently got my FIRST wheelchair accessible van and havent been home since, but my favorite place for me and my fiance to go is the beach, and my wheelchair isnt good on the sand, i looked up info on some wheelchair beach chair type things but there sooooo expensive i was wondering what some of my other options would be on this, and help on either topic would be greatly appreciated...thank everyone so much and i hope to hear from you all soon!

take care,
monty and jessi

Hi Monty and Jessi!!

So glad to hear about your van - they are a godsend when you get them I know. Dont have any ideas on the fertility bit (but maybe ask in the relationships section of the forum) - I'm sure there are guys there able to help with advice as your message was a little hidden away here.

As to beaches, and sand with wheels. In France they have beaches with special disabled points. This isn't as bad as it sounds. The local town authority has a life guard station there with extra staff dedicated to helping disabled people. They daily place wooden boardwalk sections that go down the beach - not just across the top - that you can roll on down to near the water line, and also have beach wheelchairs with large fat adapted tyres that you can use if you want to go far off the boardwalk.

They offered to help lift me out of my chair and onto the beach to sunbathe or even into the water! I was shocked and delighted. They did leave at 6pm with the life guards and removed the lower section of boardwalk, but it seemed a great service and I think could be rolled out at many popular beaches.

Back to your local beaches, how soft are they? I have used those grass style beach mats - you need at least 2 and they have to be wide enough for your chair - to make a path through softer sand till we reach the harder compacted soft sand which I can roll on. It means you only go 6 foot at a time though. If you can borrow a strong guy on the beach - are there any muscley types to help Jessi out - they can pull you backwards through sand. Backwards is by far the best way. You can do a few feet forwards by going on your back wheels and just taking a run at it. Only gets you a few feet though.

When I go to a beach I usually get to a place I like and stay still and watch everyone play around me, unless it has a hard area we can easily roll on near the water line. My kids just love building sand castles!

Love your picture on your profile btw!!

L xx
