Well, I'm not happy, in fact, I am bloody fuming
The company that are adapting my brand new Mercedes sprinter van have crashed it. I was supposed to be receiving it this week, not sure what it's going to happen now. So, as far as I'm concerned, it is now second-hand vehicle that has been in an accident, I am going to be looking for a considerable amount of money deducted off it.
The really annoying thing about the whole situation is have waited over a year for this vehicle. It's supposed to be coming on Thursday. First of all Mercedes took six months to deliver the vehicle and the adaptions have taken six months. I have been housebound since last year because my other car is off the road. I have been planning all sorts of things including going fishing for the first time in God knows how long. Now we have to wait even longer.

Dont get mad, get even. But I do understand as our vans become very precious to us as they are such a major lifeline to the outside world.
I'd get a brief to look at the small print of the contract you must of signed. I think they will have been insured for the driving of the vehicle, and so maybe its an insurance case rather than something against them. It must of happened before.
Maybe they will let you have this one, after its been mended, whilst they actually fulfill your order and start again with a new van. Alternatively only settle on a significantly reduced price as your vehicle is definately second hand. I've just bought an adapted second hand van, 18 months old 55k on clock, and got it at half its list price of 18 months ago, and that was via the orginal conversion people. I guess the crash could be like the wear and tear of 55k miles.
Also check out that Pronto has an adapted Merc van for sale at £16.5k on this site - maybe you could contact him, and use his details as proof of nearly new adapted vans prices.
My old van was once crashed into and took 6 weeks to mend. The insurance company could only hire me a car during that time, so I billed them for an extra carer required on my daily journey to college to lift me into and out of the car twice a day, which they paid. I think it was £100 a week, and that was 15+ years ago. That was in the day before there were adapted taxis though.
Good luck

I feel for you Penn,
I had my share of illness last year & was housebound for a bit & the independance of driving I missed so a whole year now must be a killer & then to have it snatched away:-((
Hopefully they can expedite some solution soon & we're all hoping for ya. Keep us posted & summer is here now where I am so I guess the same for you so it won't be long with luck.
