Do any spinal injured suffer from the following problem I suffer from? Each night I take my socks off, there are indented marks from the socks I've been wearing.

Does anyone know where to source socks which do not constrict the circulation like this?

Would you like to be able to source socks which do not constrict circulation?

where would you most like to be able to buy such socks from if this is a problem you encounter?

Regards,

Luke

I used to have problems with circulation, circulation socks, pressures sores on toes and normal socks. I now don't wear ANY socks and have NO problems! I wear DC skate shoes alone. Sure the stnk a little but I have no other feet problems.

Hi there, I work in a nursing home and have lots of residents who have circulation problems, we solve this in 3 ways, for those with serious circulation problems we have them in special socks and stockings although these help improve circulation they are very difficult to put on, for those who have circulation problems just because of their socks, if they cant afford new ones we simply cut the top of the sock where the elastic part is (someone previously mentioned this) and then the 3rd option is to simply buy a bigger sized sock. And also as bulky said simply wear no socks many people do this, and to help with the no sock odour you can buy inner soles which absorb and refresh your shoes or simply buy a powder or spray for them, I have to buy the spray for my son who does wear socks but he has mighty stinky feet lol lol. Good luck and hope this is of some help for you.

Bulky,
Thanks very much for your reply.

It was an research question as well. I have been looking into the idea of having such socks that fit lose distrtibuted in places that people like us that need them can get access to them more easily.

I know such socks are manufactured but I've never seen them and I've been injured 16 years!

Would you like to buy such socks were they available then? You must get cold feet in winter!

Best wishes,

Luke

Thank you for your reply.

Very interesting to hear of your solutions. I have used those long circulatory socks in the past but they are awkward and I find they ruck up a lot.

The question is also a commercial research one. I am looking into sourcing lose fitting socks, which apparently are manufactured and getting them distributed to the people that need them, ie. through appropriate websites, charities (Aspire, Spinal Injuries Association etc) and retailers.

Do you think there would be a need for such items amongst your patients were they more easily available?

Regards,

Luke
