London has just been awarded the 2012 Olympic Games, the first time the games have been held in London since 1948.

So will you be there?

I know I'll definatly be going to the Paralympics as a spectator. Will anyone here be competing?

Further information can be found here: http://www.apparelyz...ames/index.html

Bruce and I are going to try to start traveling to one new place a year...so who knows....that would be cool! Doesn't it rain a lot in London?

That would be so much fun!!! We could have a picnic!! :) Sorry about that last corny sentence...I am in a goofy mood! It really would be fun though! You know, I don't try to think about tomorrow, let alone 2012! I could have like 20 kids by then (hopefully!).
We are trying to plan a really nice vacation once a year from now on, so I'll put London down for 2012!
Unfortunately, this year we are going on a hunting trip to kill a goat or a ram or something...it has curly horns! Next year, it is my turn to plan the trip (Hawaii here we come!)

I am bringing this back up because my hubby and I have decided that we are going to come. Anyone else know if you are going to be there now that it is a little closer?

Ha Ha, Ha Ha Ha, I cant even get over my first obstacle, getting on the train at MY local station
Certainly not going to sit in the traffic chaos that will surely be there, though proberbly not for the paras (less spectators)

I don't know yet if I'll be going.
A friend of mine talked about considering to participate - but it's yet unsure. If he does, I'll be there - you bet!

BTW: About 20 years ago, as a very young teacher, I was in Berlin with a class at the time of the Paralympics. My colleague, a sports teacher, had tickets, and we went to watch. I remember it was very interesting - I also remember I didn't know much (it was before I met my SCI friend). And I remember my colleague was angry at the lack of public interest - in comparison to other sports events. But for me, it was a very special day.

John, who did you think I meant? I didn't want to mention your name - that's up to you.

So: If you participate, I'll be there! Promised.

And I might meet rue and some others, perhaps, possibly - sounds a good prospect. Dave - if I come - meet me? If!! Anyway: rue, enjoy!

:wink05:

All based on timing at the moment, training at the moment is within body building but will need to switch to power lifting in Jan to give me a chance.

It would most certainly be fun. "Straight and narrow ways" - what are you talking about? :)

I'm sure there will be members there - some don't live far away.
And perhaps we really meet - let's see. I would love to. (Can you put up with an AB member?)

Enjoy.

Many thanks Double D.

I'll see what progression is like and take it from there, training takes on a new meaning of pain in Jan so I'll be keeping me fingers crossed.
