1. I got a killer spinal headache from the trial, and the doctor told me to drink "real" Coke and eat "real" potato chips. I'm weight-conscious and don't care for either one. Is what's beneficial from the drinks the caffeine or the sugar--for the chips, is it the potato, the salt, or the grease? I don't want the headache again, but if I'm OK with Diet Coke and SunChips, I'd rather have that.
2. When you have the pump refilled, is the Baclofen billed separately from the pharmacy or as part of the doctor bill?

I was warned about the potential headache from the test dose but didn't get one. My friend here in rehab did get one.

However, after having the pumps fitted, neither of us have had the headache. We have both benefitted hugely from the operation.

We are both C6/7 spinal injured males, 30 and 33 years old.

We are both from the UK and therefore NHS patients. Our healthcare is free here and so pump refills are not billed by anyone. Or at least we never see a bill.

I have had the pump now since May 2005,yes i got the horrible headache, what I was told by the medtronic rep was eat potato chips for the salt and drink mountain dew for the sugar, and the combination of the two will help,I drank the mountain dew and ate pringles, and believe it or not it worked.

God Bless,

Hi guys !
Supposedly it's the salt and the sugar combined that help with the spinal headache. As far as the billing, it depends where the drug is coming from. Some companies will come to your home and do your refills, increases, etc. and they make the Baclofen right there so it's one bill and that's covered by the insurance company. If you want more info on that, write me back...................Gina
