My wife and I have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Hungary.

We stayed at Sunnyroth Villas at Zalakarosh 20 minutes drive from Balaton Airport. The owners of the villas are Andy and Carol, who are the most helpfull people you could wish to meet , nothing is too much for them .The villas are all accessible and niceley furnished and bright.

As we are both 59 we were a little worried of the unknown but our worries were soon put aside, it was absolutely a wonderfull experience. The thermal baths only 5 minutes away were a great benefit to me and I couldnt get enough. I had massages which were the best Ive ever experienced by hungarian staff at the baths after sitting in warm water with bubbles pattering on my back, as I am a T12/L1 injury this was heaven!!!

I am not the most active of people but this did not stop me or hamper me in anyway!!!

The Hungarian people are only too happy to help if needed. We went out for meals locally which were delicious and cheap and went round a few local markets ande the neighbours were very friendly indeed.

I can reccomend a holiday at sunnyroth villas and Im sure that if youre thinking of one that if you contact Andy or Carol with any queries they will be only too happy to help.

We will definately go back.

a nice post pete! if you're into hungarian thermal baths you should also visit harkany, close to the croatian border. also kanjizha/kanyizsa in serbia, close to the hungarian border is very nice... and actually the same flow of thermal waters.

Hello Pete,

Reading your story I thought lets write a reply and maybe a good suggestion. I love Hungary too and I am travelling to Hungary for over 6 years now.

I'm staying in a villa in Velence with a view over Lake Velence, a small lake between Budapest and the top of the Balaton. The villa is completely accessible for wheelchair users. The Dutch owner is in a wheelchair himself.

The Hungarian manager who speaks German and English can pick you up from the airport in case you have a manual wheelchair. In case of a powered wheelchair you can call a wheelchair accessible cab at the Ferihegy airport in Budapest.

I love to visit Thermal Baths as well. I have a muscular disease and my muscles love the warmth. There is one in Gardony / Agard also just 5 car minutes from this house. But at the moment the are building a thermal bath in Velence just a 5 minute walk / roll along the Lake.

Restaurants accross the street, bank, postoffice and supermarket within 500 meters.

Do you want to know more about this Wheelchair accessible villa in Velence, Hungary then click at this link.

Do you have questions email me. I always answer.

Regards, John
