Hey,

My name is Jana Stafurik and I am currently studying my honours in psychology at Queensland University of Technology. For my thesis, I am interested in investigating the benefits physically disabled individuals receive from participation in virtual communities. Very little research has been done in this area and I wish to further extend my current research next year when I begin my PhD.

I am inviting you to participate in my research project. If you wish to participate you will be asked to complete an online survey that will take approximately 20 minutes. The questions that you will be asked are related to the type of support you experience in the disabled internet community to which you belong and the benefits and negatives of being a member.

Your responses will be completely confidential and anonymous at all times as there will be no identification questions asked. You are freely able to discontinue your involvement in the study at any time. Your consent is needed though and consent is given by submission of your completed survey.

There will be an information page provided prior to the survey giving you all the information about the nature of the research project. If you do wish to participate please copy and paste the following address:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=RBvA...7PvcOZ4Mw_3d_3d

If you have any questions in reference to this research project please do not hesitate to contact Jana at support_survey@hotmail.com or if you want a quick reply you can also email me at jana.stafurik@student.qut.edu.au

Thank you for your consideration and time.

Regards,

Jana :poo:

I responded to this. Seems ok.
Some of the wording could be improved. Some of the questions pose their own problem to make sense (eg 13 and 14).

I did the survey as well and as well had some problems with the wording of Q:13,14. The part at the end that was left so that we could make our own personal comments was appreciated (+ am sure it will help you make sense of our answers).

Good Luck on your thesis. :(
