Hi, everyone. :(

Just thought I should make a proper introduction, rather than lurk rudely in the shadows. I'm here because my boyfriend is a C4-5 quad, due to a fall back in February of this year. Since then, I've done all I could to learn everything possible about his injury and the new challenges facing him (and us), etc., as well as try to sort through my own feelings, and I think this site can help me continue to do both. I told him about it tonight, and he's looking forward to checking out the site himself once he's internet-enabled (he's living with his folks now, and getting high speed internet is on their sizable "to do" list). He and I have the added challenge of living far apart, unfortunately, a problem that we had planned to remedy before the accident, and still plan on addressing when the time is right.

Let's see, what else can I tell you.... I'm 36, and I live deep in farm country, on Maryland's eastern shore. My name isn't really Mary Jane, but I'm a rather ginormous Tom Petty fan, so I suppose it'll do. :lmao:

I've learned more than I ever certainly dreamed I'd know about SCI in the past few months, but I'm certain to be woefully ignorant compared to others here, so I apologize in advance for any terribly obvious questions I may ask, or topics I may bring up. Feel free to school me as needed! (oooh, a whip-cracking smiley would be perfect here!)

Oh, just wait, it gets better! I also use words like "bajilliondy".

And thank you for the welcome. :)
