I went for another visit with this new doctor and now I'm being told to see an internist? Why?
Is this a normal routine. I was told that before I'm sent to a new neuro. I have to be seen by an internist. This is the strangest thing I've heard in awhile. I even pulled out a picture of the my car after the accident to prove that I was telling the truth and the doctor just said that this has to be done this way before I see the neuro. Also the reason for the check up is diffuse arthralgias. I gave them copies of the MRI how much more do they need?
I do know maybe I'm overreacting but after 13 years .....well you learn to second guess the doctor.

I doubt your doctor thinks your making anything up.
Internists specialize in neurological problems, so I'm sure theres a method to his madness.

I hope so. I'd hate to switch doctors . I'm just going to try to think positive and maybe eat a pint
of ice cream .

Hi Daylight
Stop at half a pint of ice cream. you will feel bad if you eat the whole lot.
Why do you not want to see internist.? maybe they have a different role in you neck of the woods. I would think postive, follow the route and then make informed decision, not ones of the cuff, I know that I caN JUMP in with both feet. So think through the options,
Cate

Change my mind on the ice cream last night . I had an allergic reaction to a med that the doctor changed. I was switched to lyrica from neurontin . Ended up with a rash from head to toe and vomiting.
Found out there was a mis- dx in my charts saying that I have fibromyalgia of all things and thats why
I was going to see a internist not because of my spine at all. Well this morning I called my former doctor and complained because I have never had fibromyalgia(which he agreed) and for him to explain this to my new doctor. I guessing that it was a "clerical" mistake. This "mistake" could have cost me a furtune in retesting to set everything right again.
I got a call back earlier today for my doctors nurse saying to stop taking the lyrica and that he consulted with the internist and they decided that a
neurologist appointment is needed . :) I just can't understand that after seeing my mri results , picture of the car after the accident , heck the atrophy in my legs, vision loss, hearing loss, ect..... Are there any good doctors in california? Sometimes I think that I should just get my meds from Mexico or Canada (maybe Montel Williams.)
Ok maybe Montel is the better choice of the three at least his meds are herbal.
If I wasen't so scared of lossing the use of my arms , legs and sight i'd stop seeing doctors forever.
