ive used it for nearly 2 months, and i think its a god-send! My normal routine has had to change every few months as things stop working, I tried this, and my time in the bathroom has gone from up to 2 hours ( bad day, normally between 1 hour and 1.30 hours), to around 20 minutes all done! For me its been the easiest BM routine I've ever had. Its just a glorified enema really, the should have thought of its years ago for us lot!!! Try it :)

Mmm, EMS, I've seen that in the past but didn't know they were available in the UK on prescription. I too have problems with changes in bowel behaviour and always seem to be catching up with it. Currently a large bowl of All Bran and some bisacodyl tablets helps but...

Anyway, can you say how easy t was to learn and to use? Conveen are selling them so they are hardly going to say there might be problems.

Thanks

This device has been out since April this year. First time using it I would way was just more time consuming, Even though I'd read all the instruction, i still took them into the bathroom with me and step by step went through it. Then after that it just seems obvious. I would say there should be a few amendments in the instructions!! But I guess thats always the case with a new product. Sorry to be blunt about it all but for one thing, if you follow the first few lines of the *manual*, you'll end up with 200ml of air in your bowel! There is air in the tubes, and *before* you put the catheter in, I put the controller to the water option and pump away till the water is coming out of the catheter. Then I put the controller to the air function, which in turn locks the water in place where it is ( now in the cather instead of a meter up the tube!!), insert the catheter, pump three times, then start the water function again and insert the water.

The codes for the UK you need to give your doctor are,

the irrigation system ( comes in a grey padded fabric bag): 29121
15 catheters and a water bag: 29122
or 10 catheters and no water bag: 29123

Another thing, to check if something is avaliable on prescription on the NHS, look here... http://admin.safescr...gcgic.cgi/START DONT LOOK AT THE PRICES!!!! IF YOU NEED IT ASK FOR IT!
