Here is how I get into and out of my truck: 99 Ford F250 4x4

Not the best on my shoulders, but its how I get by for now.

To close the door I just bent a piece of 3/16th rod into a hook to grab the door handle.

Impressive, I must say... good video, I've never seen another para/quad do a car transfer, so it was neat to watch it.... wish I had someone like you around to teach me when I was learning!!

I just taught myself. I went and bought the truck, then when I was home alone one day I decided to figure it out and once I did, I took off for a drive by myself. First time I was truely independent in over 8 months. I had a grin on my face the whole time  :)

I drive a hyundai elantra, and taught myself the transfer, how to break the chair down, load it up, and get it back out and together.... took about 2 days of just figuring out the dynamics.... now its cake!!

Pretty cool! Think my truck is a little higher but i get in the drivers side by grabbing the steering wheel and pulling myself up, works very well but doesn't look nearly as graceful as the way you do it.

I really like seeing how other people do their transfers. I was doing something similar to yours but would put both feet in the vehicle then pull myself up using the grab bar if it had one or the door. You have a great technique but it seems like you could hit the tire pretty easy on the way back down. Do you ever mis-judge?
I am using the tone in my legs to get into my vehicle now. They can support me for a little bit. Problem is they don't want to bend when I want them to.
How difficult was it to get your video onto YouTube?
Boat racing accident July 2006. Still hoping for some return!

Well it would be alot easier if I didnt have to record off the camcorder onto a dvd, then rip the dvd onto my hard drive, then upload it onto youtube  But once its on the computer its really easy to upload to YouTube. Just make sure you have a account, then theres a link to a upload page. Fill out the form for the video description, then click next, then browse your folders to find the video you want than click upload..

WoW! You make that look really easy. My mom has a truck and I have to pull myself up by the hand bar. I was so happy when i saw you get your chair in the truck too. Do you find that it takes a lot of energy to get in and out. I used to get tired pretty quick when riding around with mom.

I drive a van with a lift so that's a little bit easier for my everyday schedule.

There's nothing like the feeling you have the first time your back behind the wheel after not being able to drive for a while so - Good Job!

Yeah I suppose I get tired after doing it more than a few times a day. But I guess I ain't gonna push my self anywhere. It really aint that after you get the hang of it. The only think that sucks is when I forget somthing up on the dash like my phonePosted Image

That's pretty good dude!

I have a suzuki sj410 riding on a toyota land cruiser chassis with a 4" lift on it so i find it difficult to get into that. I can do it though, but I have a lot of movement in my legs which helps a lot so I can stand and get my chair in before me.

You look to be a complete injury, and I can only imagine how hard it must be regardless of how easy you make it look.

To you and anyone else who gets around their problems with as much finesse and thought as you, i salute you!! :)
