Can anyone give me tips on how to get into my chair with out using my brakes. they are such a pain in the butt to mess with and i see people that dont even have brakes on their chairs so if there is any one out there that does not use their brakes can you tell me the trick to getting into your chair from lets say a bed.
My bed is level with my chair and every time i try the chair goes flying back. i can get into bed fine with out brakes.

If the chair is flying back I'd suggest you are pushing it instead of LIFTING yourself on to it.
Lean your weight further over the hand you have placed on the chair - if anything, you should be pulling the chair towards you. jamming it into the bed.
Swing yourself over with ballet grace, aiming at the middle front part of the seat.
I believe you should have enough control to balance, perched just before you drop on to the seat (should you want to).
When you've got it sussed forget all the rules and do what works best.
Final rule, don't blame me if you make a mistake

Yeah what he said, the only times I use breaks these days is if I'm sitting on a slant or getting in/out of a car that is parked on a slant. Nomis said it correctly, you want to pull the chair towards/under you while transferring, if it is moving away then your pushing it away.
