Hello,
As the topic states I am glad to find this web site. I know there are many forums out there but this was the first I came to.

My wife Stacy of 10 years was in a MVA on 3-31-07. She is a complete T-10. The adjustments to our lives and our two children Kelly (10 years old) and Kaylee (8 Years old) have been more than challenging needless to say. Stacy has made remarkable progress but gets down alot more than most people realize. She was in her third year of nursing school and is planning to start back to school part time on Aug. 20th.

The kids have adjusted pretty well and likes to help "Mama" most of the time. They have both been real troopers for the most part.

As for me, it feels good to find someone to talk to and thanks for being there.

  • Spinal Injury Level / Relationship: Daughter has SB

Hi,

I only stumbled upon this site today, but am so happy that I did!

My daughter is 15 years old and has spina bifida. She's a full time wheelchair user and has very little feeling from just above the waist down. She had a bladder aug, plus mitrofanoff and ACE surgery in May, but has to go back in on Aug 30th for more surgery on the ACE (there was a problem getting the catheter in the first time), have her SPC taken out and have surgery to remove a surgical swab, which was "accidentally" left in her abdomen following her last surgery.

The last few months have been hard, especially sice we found out about the swab being left behind. Apparently, they knew they'd lost one during surgery, but didn't actually tell us about it until it showed up on an x-ray, after she'd been ill all night following her discharge from hospital. To say I'm angry about it would be an understatement!

Anyway, I'm so pleased I've found this group.

Welcome to you both.

The site has made me a heck of a lot more comfortable with some things. I'm sure this is going to be a good thing for you as well.
