Hi everyone,
haven't been on for awhile. Still Trying to recoup still from a muscle flap reconstruction.
I spent seven whole weeks "in the hospital and rehab" came home and everything was going good up until the third of July. Started feeling symptomatic with infection. Y'all know fever, thirst. Etc.
I had a small dime sized soft spot on my suture line. It was soft and spongy and felt like fluid underneath the skin. To make a long story short it opened up as well as another spot about six to 8 cm up the suture line. Had to go back to the hospital for four days of IV antibiotics, i.e. vancomycin.
And have been put back on the wound back and healing very well so far. Knock on wood! Hopefully within a few weeks it should be completely healed.
I forgot to mention that the muscle flap is intact is just a small wound at the bottom of the suture line. Have been getting up every other day or so for several hours everything feels wonderful. It's hard to imagine life without significant pain but I've actually had not much pain to speak of except for the occasional aches and pains of a 40-year-old. LOL!
Hope everyone is doing okay here? And I apologize for disappearing but I haven't forgotten support that I get from the forums here!
I will try to do better in the future.
