Hi
I have been here before its been 5 weeks now since my fall how long roughly does it take for you to notice if i may become paralysed. do these symptons sound familier to anybody. I need to know please.
1. felling very hot all the time and flushed
2. wakeing up very dry mouthed.
3.not sleeping well at all wakeing early.
4. feeling breathless.
5.also my degestive system isnt working.
Could anybody tell me if it was spinal cord damage would I know by now. I damaged my throat in the thyroid and wind pipe area some people say it could be thyroids because I feel very irratble weak muscles and feel tired all the time depressed and fatigue.
I know you are not doctors or anything but did anybody here fell anything like this after thier accident and how long was it before you knew you was paralysed.
Please help I am so worried thankyou for your precious time.

Hi,
If you have not experienced any motor or sensory changes, numbness, weakness on certain muscle groups, pins and needles, then I would look further to the thyroid.
My mother in law suffered from an under active thyroid and had all the symptoms you describe. Her condition was called Hypothyroidism. You can find more information here: Hypothyroidism
She was given tablets to help, which they did.
I hope this helps.

thanks simon for reply what did you mean by motor or sensory changes. does people who suffer spinal cord injury affect them straight away. i was too drunk by the way but surely that wouldnt affect the outcome would i i should hope 5 weeks is too long now well im hopeing anyway its very scary. what other symtoms can occur annd do they occur straight away. thanks for thyroid info ive heared that can slow your brain and body functions down i did fall a few times so its one or the other. i had xrays but nothing broken or fractured so im lost but ive heared the cells can get damaged too. thankyou.

motor skills are things like gripping, writing, drawing or tying your shoes.
I think that if your fall were to leave you paralysed, you would be by now.
