i have been a paraplegic since 1984 and have been newly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. anybody heard of this type of thing?? the ms made me a quad over night however, thank god with good therapy i got almost all funtion back with the exception of my eyes which are different everyday and often times different throughout the day. funny -- i carry around a bag of glasses cause i never know which ones i'll need. MS is a crazy crazy disease. 200 a week are dignosed with it. Wonder if it could have anything to do with my pre-existing condition of paraplgia?

HI I have the same as you but the other way round, I was diagnosed with MS in 1997, but then suffered a SCI at L2 in a RTC in 2005.
My MS is in remission at the moment as I normally don't have much use of my arms, so I'm trying to make the most of it! Although at the same time I'm dreading the day I have another MS attack.
If you want to chat more PM me anytime,
N xx

I was looking this up a while ago when my (previously able bodied) friend developed it (he's only had one relatively attack so far **touch wood**) and I did read somewhere that people with SCI seemed more likely to develop MS, but I can't for the life of me remember where I read it.
I think you're probably best off contacting The MS Society or someone like that to ask the question.
Squirrel, I hope you stay in remission ((HUG)).

I was tested 2 years ago for MS because I have all the signs and my family was worried. When the MRI came back it was negative for MS. I wonder now if the signs of MS are really from my SCI? Does anyone else have this?
