A free van is not totally out of the question! A friend of mine just gave away (for free) a ramp van because his uncle died and he did not want to go through the hassle of selling it. My husband and I have received two vans that had working lifts in them as a donation to our charity for us to give to someone. So, a "free" van is not out of the question and not laughable. However, I do not know of any listed resource that can steer you in that direction. Things happen by "luck" -- that is, when preparation meets opportunity. :(

If I were you, assuming you are in the United States, I would get a service organization to adopt you and throw a fundraiser. Make sure it gets a lot of publicity and that your story gets in the newspaper. That is not a difficult thing to do -- actually it is pretty easy with a little effort and perseverance. Get some advocates with big mouths on your side so they can keep drumming up sponsors. The more people that know about you are situation, the more opportunities come your way. You never know, an auto dealership may want a tax write off for donating a ramp van to a nonprofit agency who could give it to you! Start envisioning the possibilities and do not give up until you've got what you want.

Try freedom motors. Here's a direct link of their used inventory:

Not exactly "free" ...

Some radio stations and news shows help with stuff like that around Christmas time.
Life is what you make it....and only you have that choice.
