I'm on a CBA program that buys me adaptive equipment
for me, my wheelchair, my place.

I start my new year on the 22nd which means more money.

So what do you have cool that makes life easier?

I'm c7 so I need alot of help.

I'm getting remote controls for my doors.
Found some on the web.
Not sure how good they are.

But would like to know about anything
that might help me live more independently.

thanks

I have one of these Gravity Pepper Mills and I LOVE it. I'm a para and have complete hand function but as a cook I really love the ease of this as it only requires one hand. Just tip it over your dish/pan to begin grinding. It has been a little different in that it keeps me from leaning over a hot pan as much, not needing to use both hands to grind the pepper. Mine has a black rubber type outer shell vs the chrome pictured here so that would help with non-slip issues if you have limited hand strength. I got mine at Crate & Barrel for $25. They also make them for salt if you like to grind your own. I'm sure you were actually looking for home conversion ideas but thought I'd throw this out in case anyone might find it useful.

Yep, my very special do-it-all-everything magic wand. It's a stick, a piece of dowel with a picture hook on one end. The ultimate tool in reaching where no SCI-person has ever reached before. Closes windows, turns off smoke alarms, retrieves pens from under the couch, reaches that itch in the middle of my back. Cost $2 or free if you rummage the garage.

lune14, I totally appreciate your pepper grinder. Also, appreciate the pepper.

How funny Nomis.

I have a dowel on my table right now.
No picture hook, but a loop of material on the end.
I wrap it around my wrist before using the dowel,
in case I drop the dowel, the loop keeps it from landing on the floor.
Happened too many times.

I have another dowel with duct tape looped together,
(sticky side out)
pinned on with a thumb tack.
Works wonders picking up letters, bills, cards, etc.,
dropped to the floor.

The cheapest things are the best.

Guess I need to get a picture hook. lol

thanks Kay
