When I had my sacral reconstruction surgery, it developed a bad MRSA infection, and after 2 debridement/woundvac surgeries I spent mid-November to xmas eve on IV heavy antibiotics and oral heavy antibiotics until mid-May. This was last year, earlier this year.
There's a spot on my spinal incision, right around where my beltline is, that's acting funny: It's pretty red, and soft. I've got an appointment to have it looked at. It's been red for about a week.
It's scaring me pretty bad because that's about where the infection got bad enough that bone and hardware were exposed. I'm hoping it's nothing more (hah...) than a pressure sore or friction/pressure blister or something...someone tell me it's sounding like something that's NOT a resurgance of that horrible MRSA...please?
I don't want another surgery...I don't think I could handle it. I just started being able to get my life back underway....

Update: this morning I noticed there's something in the soft-ish area that jingles when lightly tapped. I think I've got a screw loose, and not just in my head.
Freaked out and called my GP, just got back from there. Preliminary bloodwork came back normal, so keep your fingers crossed for me, if anyone's reading this. I'm hoping it's something simple, easy to fix, and with minimal downtime.
Oddly enough, since this morning when I discovered the jingle noise, I've also noticed my pain levels have gone down dramatically...sitting doesn't hurt hardly at all where before I had to have heavy cushioning...strange.

Thanks, all.
Update: There were (apparently) 2 pressure sores, and both are getting better. The main one (that I noticed) is almost healed...still red, but I can't find it by feel anymore: have to use a mirror.
Neurosurgeon said the jingling noise was perfectly normal. The spinal fusions are nice and solid, and the bone growth loosened up one of the plates, which is what's rattling. They offered to cut me open and take the plate out, but I told 'em that wasn't necessary. ;)
