 right on, how fast does that thing move? (now has the old commercial stuck in my head with the two lil old ladies at the grand canyon yelling hoverround and the echo-commercial, not the echo in my head hehe)

Mine is not the one they feature in the commercial.
Mine goes 7-7.5mpg. Pretty fast.

Some of the things that I love about it is that it is very comfortable, it is direct drive from the motor (tons of torque) and turns on a dime, you can do a perfect donut turning perfectly on one wheel while it remains stationary. It holds a charge for days.
I love that the center of gravity is over the drive wheels and battery, so NO tipping.
The drive system is very sensitive, so you can control your speed and direction like it is part of you.
That is a big deal for me because sudden changes in speed/direction/bumps hurt me.
They have a lot of models and customize all of them. They bring them to your house for free and their service people, at least mine, are patient and do NOT sell, just help. They are trained not to push or sell but just to help people get the best chair for their needs.
My chair is a refurbished model because my ins will only pay for one in my life and I am very young, so may family helped me get this one, the company was AMAZING matching what they had, customizing it, and matching the prices available with my needs.
I have talked to others with power chairs and can't imaging making another choice now.

Never paid attention to power anything until I started my new job, so I'm learning about em as I go, although most that I deal with are the cheaper medicare bought ones for elderly people. However I got to see one of these in action by the sales rep a couple weeks back. How do they compare? It almost made me want to get a power chair and if I ever did need one, then I'd try to save up for one.

As it turns out, my best friends step mother now has one of the fancy ones... it does somehow get up the door step, side walk curbs (I guess parts of Michigan and Florida do not have wheelchair *ramps* at crosswalks. Now what about stairs...? I suspect thats not possible. I have been known to be wrong.

They have money... <sighs> I hate that medicare or whichever is in each state is not more generous with funding.... I could not go for long with my manual chair when I was in one.. then again I guess had I been in longer, at any of the times I have had to use it.... I might have built up upper body strength. Nahhhhhhh.

You know, ever since California started a *Lottery* I always said I wanted a piece of land, of fair size... build a modest 3 bdrm house and several little cottages along the sides, a fair ways away to offer privacy, and have my friends move in and just pay the utilities of thier prop and help me at the end of the year with prop taxes..... I am now starting to think, while I know my one friend would never use, much less accept any charity.. I would damn well donate chairs/scooters/hoverrounds to those that need (or want.. sometimes they have what they need, but want an upgrade) it. <sighs> Now, if only I could win the Lotto.... Anyone know the winning numbers? <bats baby blues>

Those off-road and over-curb ones look cool, but I can't handle big bumps like that.
The only problem with mine is that it has so much torque that it will sometimes get stuck in sandy conditions if I push it. If I remember to keep it slow it is great and would do better with knobby tires, but I like the smoother ride. Plus, I really don't have a reason to be on sand.
