I looked around and couldn't come up with anything specifically answered this question, but apologies if it is a repeat...

Anyway, what dosage is considered high? I was on 25mg four times a day at one point but it was reduced again a few months ago... but these damn spasm are so irritating, and they really do cause problems with transfers, or even just going up to the shops... I can't keep my feet on the footplates....

So how much is too much?

What's the highest dose you've had?

etc etc

Hi,
I used to have really annoyoing spasms everytine I went out my feet would constantly jump off my footplate. I changed my front castors to 'frogs legs' and the problem disappeared.
I take 10mg of Baclofen in the morning and 10mg at night, I still have spasms but with the 'frogs legs' I don't have the foot jumping problem.
Hope that helps.

I was up to 75mg 6 times a day with a tizedadine 2mg kicker. it did not help so I had them take me off of the baclofen pill (I didn't like falling asleep all the time, even during a conversation) now I am on dantrolene 75mg three times a day. I am suposed to be going in for testing for the baclofen pump, I'm hoping that will help. sorry I can't help more. darrel

Oh, so I can go a fair bit higher then... But I don't want to get too drowsey and I still want to be able to drive.

But it's tough to even get into the car because my spasms are soo strong...

It's all still pretty new to me, but I guess I just have to find the right balance...

I would check with your Dr. before increasing the baclofen, (400-800mg may cause liver damage) have you been stretching out? also, if the baclofen doesn't do the job see if you could get on some thing else. I had the best luck as I was backing off the baclofen and going on to the dantrolene. now that is history so I'm set up to test for the baclofen pump on the 16 of next month.

of course I will go through my GP :-)

But I have tried increasing it a little, just for one dose here or there to see what happens, and it does make life much easier (for about 4 hours at least!!)... I can lift my legs into the car etc, and they don't resist, it's sooooo much easier!! So for 4 hours I think just maybe I can cope with it all...

I don't want to fight with spasms forever, but I'm also a bit concerned with the idea of the pump... looks scary, and very invasive :-|

Have you tried the other suitable drug Tizadinine. I got nowhere with baclofen apart from feeling drowsy. Tizadinine is a newer drug and seems to work better than the baclofen. See if you can try it out yourself.

Yup, I have ordered my chair, and it will have frogs legs on it... I should be getting it in about 5 weeks... I can't wait!!!

I've had enough of this chunky hire chair ;)
