Hi,

2 days ago I had an AD attack during my bowel program. I didn't bother taking any GTN spray as I knew the stimulus would soon be removed and the banging headache would subside.

Anyway, since then everything is giving me a headache- emptying bladder, legs spasming etc. I recall years ago someone old me that after an attack you usually have a "cooling off" period- i.e. have mini attacks for a week or so after.

Can anyone shed some light on this- I've had 3 bad heads today already!

Russ.

Any idea what caused the AD during your bowel routine?

Over stimulation, Piles etc.

Simon.

sometimes a particularly bad AD attack can leave you sensitive to smaller raises in blood pressure, (eg spasms, erections etc.) causing familiar AD type headaches. It should wear off within the week, if not seek medical advice.

I think it was just over-full and I was a bit dehydrated so that caused it. I hope this sensitivity calms down quickly!

I always have worse AD when I'm dehydrated - be it from lack of drink, heat, long haul flights, alcohol, or even spicy food (yep, curry + sex = AD).

I am always much more sensitive afterwards to headaches. Take it easy, drink loads of water and take a look at your bowel routine so it doesn't happen again. Hope you feel better soon.
