Further to my quest for a Roho cover, if I buy in England its going to cost me $100 or so. If I buy in the US, half that. Thing is Roho wont let any supplier in the US send direct to England (what a surprise!). So would anyone be willing to order one for me and then send it on? I can make a payment straight to you via paypal, or I could send you the dollars in the post. Whatever you prefer. Im 110% honest, but you know I just feel Im being badly ripped off and at the moment I cant afford that much just for a cushion cover. It seems really ludicrous. I also need a new pump which are about $10 in the US as mine has seen better days.

Anyone willing to help?

thanks very very much.

You know Lucy this is one of the things that reallllllly does my head in about being disabled.

The cost of things suddenly becomes ridiculously expensive!!! For no justifiable reason either!

Have you tried your wheelchair services to see if they will provide you with a new cushion cover?
Life is just to short not to have fun!

What about these: http://www.1800wheelchair.com/asp/view-cat...category_id=501

You need to email them for shipping rates outside the U.S.

The same goes for: http://www.spinlife....?categoryID=186

At least that's what is written on both of the above websites.

Regards

Simon

Hi Simon

Thanks for that but I have tried every company in the US and NO ONE will ship to the Uk with regards to ROHO products. Seems ROHO has some sort of instruction that they will stop supplying the dealer if they do. So they can translate dollars into pounds in the UK and double the cost. I havent tried wheelchair services, I will but they are not overly generous up here and it might take 6 months to organise, ha ha!!! I think we have all had our experiences with them over the years!!
if anyone has any other suggestion?

LucyDog's correct. ROHO do seem to have a problem shipping directly to customers. One is forced to go through their international dealers, who inflate prices incredibly.

Here in SA, when I purchased my ROHO five years ago, the local dealer :
- wanted 4x the US $ price,
- only stocked limited sizes (i.e. nothing narrower than 45cm),
- was not prepared to order a specific design,
- would not open an existing box to allow inspection or trial.

When I contacted ROHO directly they flatout refuses to take an order. It was use the local dealer, and pay their inflated prices, or no deal. If I could have I would have told them to get stuffed, but I needed the cushion, so I ordered through a US friend, and they shipped to me privately.

It's insane, and under normal economic conditions they would (should) go out of business, but they have the protection of the medical equipment social/insurance funding scam so they get away with it.

Why bother to buy a cover from Roho? I know some who have made their own covers, Could even come up with some cool designs.

Hey there! I live in the US and if you need any equipment from here, let me know and I will be happy to help you out by buying it and send it over to you. Plus I will put a very low value like $20 and declare it as a gift on the customs forms so you dont get stuck with import fees.

I'll help you out too Lucydog. Sounds like gsp23 has you covered but it never hurts to have more than one resource. Just say the word and we'll start working on it.

3rd offer Miss Lucy, Now you have several offers... Damn them for charging so much for things... then again I suspect thats just, the *American Way* I just spent 20.01-stupid clickie thingy-bucks (have no idea what that translates into over the Pond) in Petrol and only got barely 7 gallons in my damn jeep....

I remember when it was 79 cents a gallon, nevermind milk at lik 99 cents a gallon.... stamp, 10 cents, candy 25 cents, gumball machines-a penny, 10 cent phone call (phone booths.. which are kinda rare now with mobile phones, er cell phones, whatever they are called.

I know, stop rambling its not 3 am... here's to getting that taken care of for ya!!!!!!!

I've bought RoHo covers from the US this summer!!! I buy everything ( including my wheelchairs - and then i invoice wheelchair services in worthing. from a company called sportaid.com never had a problem :) Also if you phone up wheelchair services they are supposed to give you cushion cover whenever you need them. But its probably the same deal, you have to wait and wait and then you get fed up of waiting!!!

Thanks to everyone who has made very generous offers... I will be in touch shortly.

I do usually get everything from the US, so thats why I was so surprised when I was refused by every supplier in the US when it comes to Roho. On this occassion Im happy to buy the cover I want rather than wait and wait and wait and.......

thanks
