I am amazed and delighted with your friend's recovery. If he has gotten that much back over the last five years, I would say he is doing everything right. You don't see that kind of regeneration in any medical literature so I'm sure his doctors are preparing papers to describe it.

A lot can be learned from his case. As I don't believe in "miracles" , I am hopeful that whatever worked for him can be duplicated in others.

As for the stem cell procedures, some may be beneficial to him. Some are no more than injections into the spinal fluid in the area of concern, while others are injected into the cord tissue itself. The latter could, possibly, do damage to the good tissue, resulting in further paralysis.

The best avenue for success would be for him to work through his own doctors to determine the best therapy. There are no "magic potions" to be bought. Our injuries are very specific to our own situation and our own doctors probably most able to guide us to appropriate ends. They seem to have done well by him so far.

You would be most helpful to him by giving him ideas to bounce off of them.

Hey Lynn,

I have contacted the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, and they have emailed me some very useful information to which i have forwarded onto him. I have no heard any feeback from him as yet, but im hopeing he does find it very useful. i have also been copying and pasting some of the forum to him so that way he has some advice on what other people in similar situations think, i think this site has been very useful, and i really do appreciate everyones help
