Hi all, I'm new. My dad fell from a tree stand while hunting almost two years ago, and was diagnosed a complete at the T-8 level. A couple months ago, however, he was able to move his toe the smallest bit. Now he can move a couple toes a tiny bit as well as his abdomen. We're all pushing for him to continue to fight hard, and I was thinking about getting a tattoo to support him. I was thinking about something like "Fight With Courage" or "Inspire." Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi, I'm darrel (some what of a smart a**) and I'm sorry about your dad, you said about two years ago? please tell me it wasn't Jan.'06 , that is when I fell almost same thing, Ikid you not long story short ---I was skinning a deer...Welcome to the sight there are plenty of people here that will try to give you info from their experiences, I am a C6 incomplete with other problems, I saw you put down that your from STL, I'm up in the home of the Leathernecks. as far as the tat. that is up to the canvass that has to wear it, are you the type that likes humor? or the stuffy type there are way to many types and choices, to honor your dad , if he was a serious hunter go with the hunter with a ten point at his feet or in the back ground. humor side "Elmer fudd" you see the feild is huge.take care and good luck with your father... darrel.

Thanks, I never thought about the hunting aspect! Actually, he fell in October of 05', he was in his tree stand reaching for his safety harness and tripped over the cable on the stand.

It was so awesome, he went deer hunting last winter for the first time in a long time and got a 10 point. Thanks for the ideas!

What would look good and terribly sexy is a tree at the base of your spine!! I just like that look. You can hide it at appropriate times and its cute when you bend over and your t-shirt ummmm

"reveals all"!!!! lol

My opinion only of course!!

Hi Mrs. House.

I'm into graphic design and saw your post, so i thought I would jumble some ideas for your tat.
The ones with the ribbons i like, but even just a plain font would look nice for a lady.

Let me know what you think.

Im glad i was of some help. Anytime you have an idea of anything else let me know I'll see what I can come up with. (That goes for anyone else as well) It keeps me fresh on my design programs. And I have a few tattoos as well so, I enjoy ink.

Good luck on any tat that you decide.

dont know if you could do this but this would really test your skills. I was thinking about getting on my back on top of my scar, a zipper but at the top it is open an you can see my spine an rods, i want it to look as real as it could be.

Something like that could be done. You would just have to talk with a really good tattoo artist willing to tattoo over a scar. They usually charge more and are more time consuming.

When I was in rehab a guy had his back tattooed from an xray he had. It was inked like his back torn open showing the spine and rods.
For me to give you a good idea i would need some kinda of pic off the net or something to get the rods and spine pretty close.
That idea for a tat is a good one (and it would really push my skills). Here is a pic that I found, it seems like your looking for something similar to this.

love the ideas!

Personally I think its important to balance a tattoo within a persons bodyshape .. if that makes sense.

It then becomes part of you and doesn't just look "stuck on" oddly if that makes sense!
