I was fed up with my crappy looking kettle and kettle tipper, so decided to look for an alternative.

Boy, did I find it!

Tefal have produced a kettle which produces boiling water in less than 3 seconds, and only heats the water you need to fill your cup.

All you need to do is place a cup under the nozzel, and press a button. The machine will then fill the cup to a level set by the user.

No more naff looking kettles and kettle tippers!

This product is great for those with reduced finger function, or those who have reduced dexterity in their hands, which would make picking up a kettle difficult, dangerous or otherwise impossible.

Manufacturer's Description

Have you ever been gasping for a cup of tea but can't be bothered to boil up the kettle? Or wished you had a way of making a cup of coffee or a hot chocolate in one mug full? Now, thanks to a revolutionary new hot water dispenser and water filter hybrid called Quick Cup you can.

Tefal Quick Cup is an extremely clever invention as it serves hot (or cool) water on demand in only 3 SECONDS and uses only a third of the energy of an ordinary kettle - so a great time, energy and money saver.

Thanks to a unique "Opti-Quick" technology system (a patented innovation by Tefal) you don't need to pre-heat your water. With the push of a button, the water is sent up the heating element in a spiral movement, heating it immediately as it travels. This way, no energy is wasted on heating water you don't need, or boiling water you don't use. In fact, Quick Cup provides am energy saving of up to 65% compared to a standard kettle, helping you to save on bills too. Tefal energy experts have calculated that there could be a £31 cost-saving per year using Quick Cup compared to an ordinary kettle - so if you are thinking of replacing your kettle and want to help reduce your carbon footprint, then Quick Cup could be the best way to help put your energy-saving intentions into action.

Here's the information: http://www.quickcup.co.uk/

I got mine for £54.00 from House of Fraser, which was the cheapest I could find.

Regards

Simon.

:Birthday_Song: The website is completely inaccessible to blind people, but from what I read in your post it sounds great! I'll have to look into possibly getting one.

Hi,

Here's another link to a review: Tefal Quick Cup

It does say that it may not produce water hot enough for the best tea in the world, but I only drink hot water and coffee, and it's fine for that.

The water is also very hot, and not just warm as some people have theorised.

Regards

Simon.

Thanks Simon! :Birthday_Song: While we are on the topic of kitchen gadgets, the best thing I ever found was the "One Touch Can Opener". The site's a bit annoying, but you cna stop the video! I didn't think it would work when I heard about it, but it really works. I was impressed lol, I have no hand function and no vision, and I can use it with no problems. You just lay it on top of any can, press the big button and it turns in a circle opening the can. When it's done, it stops and you lift the can opener off of the can and the lid is attached to it. There are no sharp edges left on the can either!
