very interesting, I was just gonna vote then I saw the poll, the most frequent month of injury was September but August was second and well fell of the roof in August and was injured then, It looks like the months when people are the most active outside are the months we are seeing the highest percentages from!!

Looks like September is the month to watch out for. You know the song "Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Greenday? I like that song. Mine was September 15th, btw. The song I've listened to all through rehab and on that day every year is "Under the Bridge" by The Chilli Peppers.

Food for thought, most likely meaningless but kind of wierd/cool/freaky/mind boggling/whatever... During one of those "sleepless through the night" episodes, when the mind goes whack n makes you do n think of stuff that belongs in dreams, I decided to try to figure out by what date I would have lived exactly, to the day & taking in account for leap years, half my life able bodied and half disabled. That date turned out to be 12-21-2012. Anyone fimilar with or who's heard of the ancient Mayan, Aztec, and Egyptian calanders will get it. Just kind of caught me by suprise. I dunno. Just something to throw at you. Makes me wonder sometimes. Whetever! Anyways....

(incase you don't know, I have a wierd, wandering, wonderous working mind...X 2 + SCI = Gemini Gone Awry!)

I'd have to live to be 98. I'm not sure I want to make that milestone.

Is it okay to add my answer to the poll if the injury is not a spinal injury? I don't want to screw up the stats. I'm in a wheelchair due to a head injury rather than a spinal injury.

I didn't click on the poll, just in case!

It was July for me.

Thanks for the clarification. Now that I voted, I can see the spread. Does anyone know their stats? Is there a statistically significantly worse month? Or is it all within the norm. September looks like a good month to stay in bed...

Although the incident that caused my head injury was in July, it's always late September and early October when I have my darkest days thinking about it.

According to this July is the most common month, doesn't quite fit in with the stats seen here though. Plus this is for America, I couldn't find stats for the UK but it's quite interesting anyway!

To be thorough, it'd need to be not just which month is the commonest, but what injury tends to happen in what month: is July the most common in the US because of more holiday accidents like diving and drunk driving (I saw more DUI in the US than in any other country I've lived in), but for example, falls in the home are more common in winter months?

October 29,2002. t-10 complete. It is interesting in the stats above that 4 of the 10 most popular days are in October with 4 popular days between October 20 and November 1. And to think I contributed to the popularity of that 12 days!!! :)
