I'm off to Paris next week and have managed to get a day in the city.

I've been to Paris in a chair, but that was over 20 years ago and access was terrible. I remember having to go up a flight of steps to see The Monalisa, it was before the Lourve pyramid.

Anyway, I digress. Has any one driven there recently and if so do you have any tips on parking? I know my blue badge will work but I seem to remember many under ground car parks that my VW van at 2.0m tall can't get in.

Also has anyone found any nice places/areas to eat that you would recommend. Looking for good food with a nice atmosphere rather than michelin starred food and posh togs.

Got my rough guide to Paris, but does any one know of an up to date access guide for Paris?

Thanks!

Not such a lot of info but will give you the basics.

This looks like the best website - lots of info - also specific sections for driving/parking, etc

Either way - have a great stay - you going to try and get into the Rugby???? LOL

Thanks a lot for these.

I booked my chunnel tickets for Sunday whilst the world cup was a dirty word (a month or so ago) and would never have dreamt that the team would of gotten so far with their earlier performances.

It would be fab to be in Paris on Saturday night, but I don't know if I can bear the pressure. Needless to say I wont have a voice left when Saturday is over.

Thanks again
