I was using silicone
And I just recently changed to something else because they were kind of cheaper yet they are still coated with silicone my problem is ever since I have been using these

I have been getting lots of sediment as long as I drink fluids as soon as I wake up
I can usually start pushing them out with the fluids
Does anyone know why
I have also been noticing because it happened once before kind of but it looks like the beginning of crystals as if bladder stones were building it's somewhat like flakes

I have been wanting a super for a whilst so as soon as I get to see my doctor I will definitely cheque
because I don't want it to be in the way if anything ever happens "you know "
sometimes I irrigate but does anyone know of any other home remedies that would help better with the cleaning up the bladder
I drink cranberry pills and plenty of water
But I just haven't been able to figure out what's causing this
does anyone have some helpful advice?
I live my life with pride because it's hard to swallow.

The first thing I'd do is find a Urologist with a history of dealing with SCI's. When you said crystals I immediately thought of gravel in the bladder. It's something I had a few times before. This does not necessarily mean you have gravel, but it's worth checking into.

Good luck :drive:

I have exactly the same problem, however was told by Urologist to do a monthly bladder washout with warm saline water. This I do regularly, especially if i see a lot of sediment. You can clear it by pushing fluids, but nothing to panic about. The soft flakes come out in bladder wash. 1l is recommended, and flush till no more sediment or "flakes" come out. Hope this helps.

:)
I think I would have to do weekly there's just so much
I am kind of worried just because just so much that every day there's more sediment
but I would definitely start doing that
Thanks a lot
I have been making my own irrigation
with water and vinegar
A certain amount of water boiled
and a certain quantity of distilled vinegar
Have you heard of any other home remedies
That would not be harmful but just as well in the cleaning

How do you do a bladder wash? I get the crystals too as well as a reddish color when the cath has been in longer than 2 1/2 weeks or so....it's weird looking- almost like rust....and the hoses get really cloudy...

Sounds like you're talking about stones.

I've been a quad 17 yrs
& have had bladder stones removed 3 times.

The crystals is sediment.
I guess everyone has it.
Just before it was excreted when we urinated.

Even able bodied gets stones.
We just see what makes stone, becauses we can see our urine.
I'm assuming the only difference is we can see it.

The sediments build up & will stop up the catheter.
Just like stones stop up able bodied.

So you drink lots of water.
Cranberry juice & cranberry pills.
Try to keep the bladder acid.
Stay away from alkaline. milk for one

I've never heard about washing out the bladder.

Seems like the sediment stays at the bottom of my bladder.
The less you drink,
the thicker the sediment gets & the faster the catheter stops up.
