Hi all of you,

I have been reading on your forum for a while now , it actually feels as if I know most of you personally.

I met a guy (quad c4-5) during July this year and have been reading up on all the "issues" regarding SCI.

You are a special group of people !!!!

I was hoping to get into contact with other members in South Africa.

Ally

Hi Ally; welcome to the site. I am not from South Africa, but did my rehab in Cape Town at the Southern Cross Hospital, Wynberg. Sadly, they closed down, but have moved to UCT Private Academic Hospital.

I am also wondering where all the South Africans are and even whether they know of Apparelyzed. Be happy to chat with you, will look forward to news from your friend. Stay firm, and reap the rewards of a great friendship.

Ally,

I am a South African - going out with a guy with a C5/C6 injury, but I live in Spain now (on my way to Aussie - visa application pending!). I used to be involved in wheelchair basketball in Joburg (at Mandeville).
This is a great forum. Lots of great people and really excellent, relevant information. I have learnt so much here and am really grateful I found it!

Good luck

Monika

Cape Town . . . land of Table Mountain, the vineyards, penguins and a few too many million people!

What do you do for a living Ally?
Do you travel much?

"Howzit" Guys.
I've also been lurking in the shadows for quite a while, contemplating an introductory post.
So this thread seems like the perfect place to break the ice.
Anyways I live in Durban. Like so many others here I started my new life after an MVA on 12 Aug 2005.
I'm also studing through UNISA after being boarded from work.

btw. This weekend I got behind the wheel :drive: for the first time after 2yrs 8mths. It was truely
liberating and symbolic seeing it was on "Freedom Day".

Feel free to pm or mail me if you wanna chat to a fellow South African.

Thanx
Santosh
