Dear Simon,

Thank you for getting back to me. I have pasted below the information about the two awards we are specifically trying to encourage applications for. Whilst not aimed specifically at people with disabilities we are keen to broaden the range of applicants and to encourage people from all walks to life to be involved in our activities. Both awards are for people to challenge themselves through travel. I look forward to hearing back as to whether these will be suitable for your website.

Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Journey of a Lifetime Award

Purpose: The Journey of a Lifetime Award is a grant of £4,000 for an original and inspiring journey anywhere in the world. The winner will receive training in radio broadcasting from the BBC and will record their experiences for a BBC Radio 4 documentary. The aim of the award is to inspire an interest in the people and places of the world and to discover new radio broadcasting talent. The award is open to travellers of all ages but you must have a permanent UK postal address.

Eligibility: Individual Travellers
Deadline: 13 November 2007

Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Land Rover ‘Go Beyond’ Bursary **NEW AWARD**

Purpose: The Land Rover ‘Go Beyond’ Bursary, run by RGS-IBG on behalf of Land Rover, provides £10,000 funding and the use of a Land Rover 110 Defender vehicle to help the successful participants 'go beyond' when exploring their understanding of a particular geographical environment. The journey must start and finish in the UK but can take place either within the UK or overseas. The loan vehicle must be essential to the journey, and the winning teams will be expected to share their experience(s) by documenting the journey in a medium of their choice: digital; photographic; film, written; visual; musical etc.

Eligibility: Individual Travellers or Teams
Deadline: 30 November 2007
