I was injured a year and a half ago - T4/T5 Complete. I've traveled quite a bit for business and leisure since then - in the US. Now, for work, I really need to get back to visit my team in Bangalore, India. But no ADA, LONG flight times, and being away from my safety net has be nervous  . Any suggestion for planning and successfully executing a business trip to India from the US?

(BTW. I've been lurking on this forum for a year or so and am really amazed and impressed with the community you have developed. If I could speak for at least one lurker out there: Thank you all for speaking up and helping me adjust!)

The length of the flight might be an issue for you (varies from person to person). It might be an idea to plan for a 2-stage trip, with an overnight stop in Singapore/Hong Kong if you're going West, or Europe if you're going East.

If you Google "Bangalore wheelchair" you will find a number of links to other people who have travelled there, and of a disability conference recently held there. Someone must have planned their accommodation and transport and the contact info should be in those web links. Google using words like "disabled", "handicapped", "wheelchair" in conjunction with words like "accommodation", "transport", "hotel", etc.

Keep an eye on the climate, it can get bloody hot and humid there. You will need to watch your liquid levels. You will also want to take your own (familiar) medicines.

HiltonP, thank you. Those are good suggestions. I keep forgetting about the broad resources outside the Apparelyzed forum. I have to learn than there are more of us that I realize!

I found an excellent response and experience share on another forum after searching as you suggested: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/archive/ind...p/t-579625.html

Again, thank you for the response.
