Ok, so I really only have the choise of a few chairs .. realistically. But I would really like to hear from others as having only used one power chair I have no ability to review others!

So, current chair- Invacare Typhoon

Now looking at,

Invacare Storm TT Surestep

Otto Bock B600 or C1000

Balder F280

Can you think of any others worth considering? Have any of you got any of these chairs? What did you make of them? Would you recomend them?

I need it to be sturdy, have raise and tilt in space, elivating leg rests and possibly recline, the faster speed on 8mph as well as a degree of 'good looks' seen as I'm going to have to look at it for the next 5 years!!

Thanks guys, really appreciate it x

Ah yes, I saw your post the other day! How are you getting on? Have you managed to narrow it down to a few?

I found this chair Zephr whilst looking around (flyer/info) but I'm not sure if you can get it in the UK.

It's funny how different the 'markets' are, you guys in the states seem to have many odd looking things and in holland there's only a choise of a few but here in the UK we only have say 3 or 4 Class 1 power chairs. I dont really understand it!

 I've had three Electric Wheelchairs, 1st.) Everest Jennings, (piece of SHIT!) it was belt driven, all electronic controls were mounted on top of battery box, sling back, sling seat....
Always fixing something on it............

2nd.) Quickie P300 (sill RUNS and looks like new) (Best Damn Chair Made) never had any problems with anything.... First set of batteries lasted me 9 years........ Computerized control, torque - braking speed - total speed....... I give it a 9 - No Shock Absorbers...

3rd.) Permobile C300, Insurance too Tight to buy C500.... I didn't have it 2 months before the elctronics shot crap..... Plus it Cost over$35,000 (I do like the tilt back and custom backrest....)
But if you have to work on it (look out-it's almost impossible to get to anything) Damn Germans....
Nice thing too, it's got shock absorbers...... (DUMB ASSES that design these, outta have to ride in one, down a rocky road - without shocks and hard tires)
Good Luck!

Jim

Don't know anything about who sells in the UK... but I had to comment.
BELT DRIVEN?
Are you kidding me?!
I can imagine what they charged for that POS!
Disgusting.
