I know most of us on this forum are past the age of trick-or-treating, but some of you might be taking your kids out & get into the Halloween spirit.

Growing up I had some great costumes (all sewn by my mom). None of them incorporated the chair, however. I did have a disabled friend in a wheelchair and he went as a train conductor one Halloween. It was a great costume and really utilized the chair.

So, any one dressing up or going to a Halloween party?

I'll be taking my 4 year old twin girls trick or treating for the first time. They are excited to go. They are both going as faries but different. I'm a little nervous ,but not bad . It should be an adventure for all 3 of us.
got a light?

I am a school teacher and have just spent all day dressed as a bat (yup, the phrase 'gone batty' does come to mind!), trying to control 33 Spanish (= LOUD) 5 year olds dressed as anything from witches to pirates. I need a big glass of red wine and SILENCE! Their parents can deal with them tonight on their sugar highs.....

You have a couple of cuties there, Izzi. I hope they have a ball tonite.

Growing up, this was one of my favorite holidays. One of the few times we were allowed to have candy!

Have a good time!

Cute kids! & ^ great costume ^

We live in a really popular neighborhood for tricker-treaters & we've expecting like 300+ kids. I'm expecting to run out of candy really fast. It also doesn't help that I've been snacking on the candy the last few days now. But really? Can you resist a Butterfingers bar or a kit-kat bar just sitting there? Not I.

Being in the Southern Hemisphere, Halloween as a commercial event has only recently been imported into the country and mostly not as big as you guys have it. As a Celt tradition to recognise the dead, it coincides with your autumn/fall as you face the oncoming winter. Here we have it in the early spring which is totally bizarre. Some mark it in April.

Yup, a non-event here in South Africa I'm afraid.

Except for a few kids who have grown up glued to the television watching USian programming!
There's a lot of resistance from Christian groups who believe it has the mark of the devil about it.

I was bad this year. School had me all distracted with projects due a week before halloween, and My costume was a last-minute effort. Next year, I'm starting early.

I was a zombie! I figure everyone's entitled to the obvious just once post-injury. I went to one party (saturday before), favourite club/bar with friends(sunday before), and had a party of my own on halloween itself. (attempted fire, grilling, pumpkin carving, pumpkin pie and gingerbread!) I cheated on the gingerbread...it never made it to the baked stage, not that anyone minded!

I haven't really dressed up much since my accident.

But this year I decided to dress up and go out to a party/dance.

I was a doll/mine/thing haha

I turned myself into a giant pumpkin-looked great but wouldn't fit through the door to get to the party.

So, i threw on some old clothes, smeared a bunch of eyeshadow on my face, arms and hair to resemble dirt, made a cardboard sign suggesting people give me money and voila'! I looked just like one of Daytona Beach's urban outdoorsmen. Everybody loved it.

where i got the idea: there was a guy in a wheelchair who used to sit on the corner of the busiest intersection in DB and beg for money saying he was a disabled veteran. I had to be downtown early one morning and was stopped at a light and there he came walking across the intersection in front of me, pushing the wheelchair. i really felt like running his a** over.
