Ways to make life better with a disability?

I'd love to hear yours!

A few:

I'm c7, arm movement, no hand or finger movement.
Nothing below my chest.

In bed to move legs: 1 soft belt, material around thigh above knees &
another soft belt, material looped thru it brought to my chest,
I stick my arm thru the loop on my chest
& can move the leg up, down, right, or left. (designed by my 9 y/o daughter)

Some soft material (old sheet) tied in a loop,
looped around door knop.
About 4 ft long. I put it in my mouth & head out,
and the door swings shut behind me. In or out works.

Turning knob on elec air conditoner in window.
Maybe you understand me.
The knob looked like a dime was standing up on the end.
Bend a fork and slip the prongs of the fork
around the part that looked like a dime sticking out.
Works perfect. (my daughter again)

One more by my daughter:
Drop a plate of food on the floor while getting it out of the frig.
In wc, can't reach floor, ask her to clean it up.
Her response: Open the back door and whistlel for the dog. lol
Children gotta love em.

You may know something better or different.
Let' share.
